Strength, Freedom, and Mercy
A Poem
I called to You for strength, But You gave me none. I begged You to set me free, But the chains clung tighter. I cried for Your mercy, But I only found despair. I felt abandoned, So I abandoned You. I felt cursed, So I cursed at You. I felt lost, So I lost You. But in the darkness, You nudged me. In the darkness, You whispered to me. In the darkness, You sought me out. You found me, Lost and alone. You found me, Crying in pain. You found me, Cursing Your Name. After all my sins, You smiled at me. After all my sins, You forgave me. After all my sins, You loved me. Here, in Your love, I adore You. Here, in Your love, I praise You. Here, in Your love, I love You. You are my God, You are my King, You are my Savior, You are my Lord, You are my Father, You are my Friend. No longer do I ask for strength, I ask for You. No longer do I ask for freedom, I ask for You. No longer do I ask for mercy, I ask for You. In You, I am strong. In You, I am free. In You, I find mercy.
